For 2027, the itinerary was intentionally redesigned to be more compact and comfortable. This allows more time to truly experience each region while also making it easy to combine the tour with individual extensions — for example in Medellín, the Amazon, or along the Caribbean coast.
This journey is especially ideal for:
active travelers
nature and culture enthusiasts
solo travelers
couples
first-time visitors to Colombia
South America lovers who want to discover the country in depth
The maximum group size is 12 participants, and the tour is guaranteed from just 2 travelers.
Detailed Description
The Highlights of the Colombia Round Trip 2027
Discover Bogotá Actively
The journey begins in Bogotá, Colombia’s vibrant capital located at 2,600 meters above sea level. Instead of a traditional city tour, Bogotá is explored actively by bicycle.
Highlights include:
the historic La Candelaria district
Plaza Bolívar
the famous Gold Museum
the Botero Museum
impressive street art
and the traditional “Tejo” game with local snacks and beer
Today, Bogotá is considered one of the most exciting cycling cities in Latin America and offers the perfect introduction to the journey.

San Agustín – Colombia’s Mystical South
The adventure continues south to San Agustín, one of the country’s most culturally fascinating regions.
Here travelers experience:
authentic local markets
traditional farming culture
local cooking workshops
encounters with farming families
and breathtaking Andean landscapes
One of the major highlights is the visit to the Archaeological Park of San Agustín, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its mysterious stone statues and ceremonial sites.
Optional activities also include:
horseback riding tours
hiking
or rafting on the Magdalena River.

Tatacoa Desert – A Different Side of Colombia
The Tatacoa Desert is one of Colombia’s most extraordinary landscapes.
Between red canyons, gray rock formations, and giant cacti, the region offers an almost surreal atmosphere. Exploring the desert in small Tuk Tuks adds an especially authentic touch.
Many travelers are surprised by Colombia’s incredible landscape diversity — and the Tatacoa Desert represents this better than almost anywhere else.

Coffee Region & Cocora Valley
One of the highlights of any Colombia trip is the famous Coffee Cultural Landscape around Salento.
In the Cocora Valley, the group hikes among the tallest wax palms in the world, surrounded by green cloud forests and spectacular mountain scenery.
Of course, a traditional coffee experience is also included:
visit to a local coffee finca
insights into cultivation and roasting
tasting of Colombian highland coffee
encounters with local family-run farms

Tayrona National Park & Caribbean Coast
After the Andes, the tropical Caribbean coast awaits.
In Santa Marta, travelers experience the relaxed Caribbean atmosphere before continuing to the famous Tayrona National Park — one of the most spectacular natural areas in South America.
The hike leads:
through tropical rainforest
past wild Caribbean beaches
all the way to the stunning Cabo San Juan
With a bit of luck, monkeys, iguanas, or exotic birds can be spotted along the way.
Please note: Tayrona National Park may close during certain periods for spiritual and ecological reasons. In that case, the itinerary will include the Taironaka Nature Reserve instead, possibly including river tubing on the Don Diego River depending on water levels.

Cartagena & La Boquilla
At the end of the journey, Cartagena awaits — one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Latin America.
During an extensive city walk, travelers discover:
the historic old town
colonial architecture
local specialties
tropical fruits
and the creative Getsemaní district with its street art and music scene
Another special contrast is the excursion to La Boquilla: traditional wooden canoes glide through peaceful mangrove landscapes, revealing an authentic side of the Caribbean coast far away from classic tourism.
