Discover Chingaza National Park: The Heart of Colombia's Water Supply
Just a short drive from Bogotá lies one of Colombia's greatest natural treasures: Chingaza National Park. This protected sanctuary preserves one of the country's best conserved páramo ecosystems and provides drinking water to millions of people in Bogotá and the surrounding municipalities.

A visit to Chingaza is much more than a hike through fields of iconic frailejón plants. It is an opportunity to experience breathtaking landscapes, discover Colombia's extraordinary biodiversity, and understand the importance of protecting one of the world's most valuable ecosystems.

A Natural Paradise in the Andes
Covering more than 76,000 hectares of páramo, high Andean forest, and wetlands, Chingaza National Park is home to an exceptional diversity of flora and fauna.
Along the trails, visitors encounter extensive fields of frailejones, remarkable plants that play a vital role in regulating the water cycle. The park is also home to orchids, mosses, and countless plant species unique to the Colombian Andes.
Its wildlife is equally impressive. Chingaza provides habitat for iconic species such as the Andean bear, white tailed deer, puma, ocelot, coati, and more than 300 bird species, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and wildlife photographers.
