Day 1: Arrival in Cartagena – A Private Table for Two
Arrival at Cartagena International Airport and private transfer to your boutique hotel in the historic center.
Later in the afternoon, discover the old city aboard an electric carriage, moving gently through its narrow streets, colorful façades, and historic plazas.
As evening arrives, leave the traditional restaurant scene behind for something more personal: a private dinner in a local home, where a chef will prepare a menu inspired by Caribbean ingredients and flavors especially for you.
A quiet and intimate introduction to Cartagena.
Overnight: Cartagena – Casa San Agustín
Day 2: La Boquilla – Mangroves, Community & a Caribbean Sunset
Today reveals a completely different side of Cartagena.
Travel to La Boquilla, a traditionally Afro-Caribbean community located between the Caribbean Sea and the mangrove wetlands north of the historic center.
Spend the day accompanied by local hosts, learn about community initiatives, and navigate the mangrove channels that have been closely connected to the lives of fishing families for generations.
Take part in an artisan workshop, creating something alongside local craftspeople while learning about techniques connected to the community and its natural environment.
As afternoon slowly turns into evening, remain by the sea for a special sunset experience in La Boquilla.
A romantic dinner is prepared on the beach while local musicians accompany the final hours of the day with the sounds of the Caribbean.
Overnight: Cartagena – Casa San Agustín
Day 3: Cartagena – Barranquilla – Tayrona
Leave Cartagena and travel east along Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
Along the way, stop in Barranquilla, a city whose identity has been shaped by the Magdalena River, migration, music, and one of Latin America’s most important carnival traditions.
Together with a local guide, discover selected areas of the city before enjoying lunch with a local chef, introducing you to another expression of Colombian Caribbean cuisine.
Afterwards, continue along the coast toward the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Check in at Tay Beach Hotel and enjoy your first relaxed evening beside the Caribbean.
Overnight: Tayrona / Buritaca – Tay Beach Hotel Tayrona
Day 4: Don Diego River & Kogui Cultural Encounter
Today brings together tropical nature and the living cultures of the Sierra Nevada.
Travel to the Don Diego River, which descends from the mountains through dense tropical vegetation toward the Caribbean Sea.
On an inflatable tube, float gently downstream and experience the rainforest from a completely different perspective. With a little luck, you may spot birds, monkeys, and other wildlife along the riverbanks.
The day also includes a respectful cultural encounter with members of the Kogui community of Katanzama.
Depending on community protocols and availability, there may be an opportunity to participate in a community-led ceremony of union and protection, known as an aseguranza.
This is not a performance staged for visitors, but an encounter whose form and development are determined by the community itself. The experience offers a unique perspective on partnership, reciprocity, and the relationship between people and territory.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Overnight: Tayrona / Buritaca – Tay Beach Hotel Tayrona
Day 5: Caribbean Time & Wellness for Two
Today, there is nowhere you need to be at any particular time.
Enjoy the beach, tropical surroundings, and hotel facilities entirely at your own pace.
During the day, share a therapeutic couples’ massage beside the beach or overlooking the sea, allowing the sounds of the Caribbean to replace the schedule for a while.
The remainder of the day is free.
Overnight: Tayrona / Buritaca – Tay Beach Hotel Tayrona
Day 6: A Day to Do Almost Nothing
A second full day has intentionally been kept free.
Have breakfast slowly. Swim. Read. Walk along the beach. Have lunch when you feel hungry.
Or simply enjoy the rare luxury of spending an entire day together without having to follow a program.
For travelers who prefer something more active, additional nature or cultural experiences can be arranged upon request.
Overnight: Tayrona / Buritaca – Tay Beach Hotel Tayrona
Day 7: Tayrona – Santa Marta Airport
After breakfast, enjoy your final hours beside the Caribbean, depending on your flight time.
At the appropriate time, private transfer to Santa Marta Airport.
End of the journey.
