Chaska Tours at the Europe–Nordic Countries Workshop, Stockholm 2026: Discover Colombia

There are experiences that go far beyond a schedule of meetings and become opportunities to grow, learn, and take pride in what we do. That was exactly how I experienced the Europe–Nordic Countries Workshop, held on June 8 and 9 in Stockholm, Sweden, where I had the privilege of representing Chaska Tours as part of the Colombian delegation invited to promote our country as a tourism destination.

The event brought together 16 Colombian tourism companies and around 20 European buyers from emerging markets, including Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and Turkey. More than just a business event, it was an opportunity to demonstrate that Colombia continues to establish itself as an authentic, diverse destination filled with unique experiences, while also highlighting the tourism sector's strong commitment to sustainability.

A Very Special Beginning

Our agenda began with an academic session focused on the profile of the Nordic traveler and the latest trends in the European travel market. During these presentations, we had the opportunity to hear from industry experts as well as Colombian representatives in Sweden, including our trade representative, the Colombian Ambassador, and other key stakeholders, who shared their insights into the opportunities this market offers for Colombian tourism.

Hearing firsthand about market trends and gaining a deeper understanding of the expectations of Nordic travelers was one of the most valuable takeaways from the event. These insights allow us to continue strengthening our travel experiences and designing journeys that are increasingly authentic, sustainable, and aligned with the expectations of this market.

Understanding what these travelers are looking for, what motivates them, and how they prefer to experience a destination provides us with valuable tools for creating products that better meet their interests and expectations.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Embassy of Colombia in Sweden and spend time with the Ambassador, learning firsthand about the efforts being made to strengthen Colombia's presence across the Nordic countries. It was a truly enriching experience, not only because of the conversations we shared but also because it allowed us to better understand the tremendous potential this region represents for Colombian tourism.

Showcasing the Essence of Colombia

One of the highlights of the event was undoubtedly the business meetings and networking sessions. There, I had the opportunity to present the work we do at Chaska Tours, sharing with international tour operators our approach to creating authentic, tailor-made travel experiences for those who want to discover Colombia.

It was incredibly rewarding to talk about our destinations, the country's extraordinary cultural and natural heritage, its communities, its gastronomy, and the remarkable diversity that makes every journey through Colombia unique. Every conversation became an opportunity to show that Colombia has so much more to offer and that companies like Chaska Tours work with passion and dedication to create unforgettable travel experiences.

In addition to the business meetings, the event concluded with a cultural performance that reminded us that the best way to promote a destination is by allowing people to experience a glimpse of its essence—its music, traditions, and joyful spirit.

A Collective Effort for Colombian Tourism

Throughout the two-day event, it was evident how much dedication and organization had gone into creating a space that encouraged the exchange of knowledge, the strengthening of professional relationships, and the promotion of Colombia as a world-class tourism destination.

Special recognition goes to ProColombia and all the organizations that made this important international promotional event possible. Thanks to their commitment, tourism companies from different regions of the country had the opportunity to represent Colombia before European buyers interested in expanding their travel portfolios with new destinations.

Beyond representing Chaska Tours, it was truly rewarding to share this experience with colleagues from other Colombian agencies and tourism companies. We were all united by the same purpose: working together to showcase the very best of our country and create new opportunities for Colombian tourism.

A Journey That Leaves More Than Just New Contacts

I returned from Stockholm with an enormous sense of satisfaction, both personally and professionally. Events like this not only create new business opportunities; they also strengthen our vision, inspire us to continue innovating, and remind us of the responsibility we carry when representing Colombia on the international stage.

I feel deeply grateful to have experienced this opportunity on behalf of Chaska Tours and to have contributed, together with the rest of the Colombian delegation, to further positioning our country as a world-class travel destination.

I am confident that the contacts, conversations, and relationships built during these two days will grow into strong partnerships and opportunities that will benefit not only our company but also the continued growth of Colombian tourism.

Because every time we share Colombia's story, celebrate its culture, and open the door to new travelers, we are also helping build a future with greater opportunities for our country.
